Last week, Cassy was elected by the 30-member Rotary Show Me Council to fill the unexpired term of PDG Ralph Cupelli as an officer of the Council, beginning immediately. Cassy will serve as the president-elect for Show Me Rotary in 2019-20 and as president in 2020-21. Ralph has resigned because of ongoing health issues.
The Show Me Council oversees and implements the training for incoming club presidents for the roughly 173 Rotary clubs in Districts 6040, 6060, and 6080. The training, popularly known as PETS (President-elect Training Seminar), is typically held the last weekend in March for those persons who will become presidents of their clubs beginning on July 1 of that year. Additionally, many Rotarians who are going to be the presidents-elect of their clubs in the coming year also attend the training. Generally, about 350 persons attend Show Me Rotary in Jefferson City every year.
